Shiira is a web browser based on WebKit and written in Cocoa. The goal of the Shiira Project is to create a browser that is better and more useful than Safari. All source code used in this software is publicly available.
Maybe not something you'd want to give up Firefox...

...for...<br />This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Right now, Shiira shows some great potential, but there's still a few kinks to sort out.
I found this to be an amazing browser, and I use it despite a few things that need fixing, though I doubt it will sway Firefox users.
It seems much more like what Safari should be than anything else. It feels allot like Safari, except without the annoying crashing, and with much more intuitive features.
This is what apple should be bundling with their OS, even in this early stage of development it seems more stable than Safari.
Great Browser!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I can see myself using this once it has matured. Some really great features.
Some problems so far - no obvious way to get out of the Shelf. It replaces the page I am viewing so it took me a while to understand what happened. It really should make it's own tab, or separate window. Also, I got a certificate warning on my intranet (not unusual) but the default warning I got from Shiira asked if I wanted to continue, but gave me NO way to actually continue. No "Yes" button or the like.
Keep going. It's really looking great!
Nice Browser but 1 fault IMO

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Auto Fill User Names and Passwords. Shiira doesn't ask if I want to keep them in my Keychain, it just puts them in there. I like to keep most of them in my Keychain.app, some like my User Name and Password for my online banking I don't want in my Keychain. Hence the 3 star rating. I recommend the app if you don't mind it putting all your User Names and Passwords in your Keychain.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I downloaded Shiira yesterday. Having used it for several hours yesterday and today, I have decided to make Shiira my default browser. Itâ??s faster than Safari; I think webpages look clearer and cleaner than with Safari; and the interface is user-friendly. What more could one ask for?
Goodbye Safari..........

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I can't believe how fast this browser is, noticably faster than Safari or Camino. Also, it works well with Java sites.
Only problem, so far: I can't yet find how to import bookmarks.
This is ONE awsom Browser!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Well, each version of this browser is better than its previous incarnation! Now, it includes AutoFill for passwords and Logon's. Truly, Shiira is becoming a mature (serious) contender in the Mac/Browser arena. I am especially pleased that the author(s) have retained support for OSX 10.3.9. Domo Arigato!
