In addition to the Netscape Navigator browser, Communicator includes a complete set of tools for effective everyday communication. It features Smart Browsing; a three-paned, integrated mail and news interface; roaming access; pinpoint addressing; and a scalable address book (to avoid any compatibility problems, you should back up your old address book).

The previous version added the ability to use Internet Config to determine which application handles a link when you click it. Previous versions also added AOL Instant Messenger 3.0, Macromedia Flash Player 4.0, StuffIt 5.5, and security fixes. Version 4.7.9 adds several enahancements to the interface as well as bug fixes.

A nice browser, I keep Netscape 4.80 (the upgrade to 4.79) as a back-up to my Netscape 7.02 --- I also keep icab 2.98 as an alternative browser.

Hard to install.When it works it is way too slow.Font rendering leaves something to be desired. Tried it on my 7200 with 8.1 but it wasn,t much better.I'll stick with Icab.

Why can't netscape fix the font rendering issues for these older versions? Considering that this is the newest version that will work on an OS8 box, I'd a thunk Netscape would use the resources they have to offer a fix.... ( HINT HINT )

It crashes from time to time. I switched over to mozilla which is a lot more stable.
