Pros
It does make gmail the default client, but there's also a Google extrension to do that.
Cons
I actually contacted a client last week because ads for Green cards (well known spam crap) were appearing on their site. Now I find out it's all down to "Send using Gmail".
Summary
Don't use this and I hope Google banishes the makers and quick!
Was happy .. until they starting adding ads to pages?!

Yes, I suppose I should have read the fine print but I am very unhappy with them adding ads to my viewed webpages, in this case a web site on an intranet. Only noticed this today, so I don't think they do it always.

Make the Gmail webmail your default email application.

Some pages include clickable email addresses. By default they open in a mail application like Outlook Express. This extension makes sure they open in Gmail instead, without adding any extra buttons.
