Want to check on site and Webcam updates without continually returning to the site during the day? This tool offers a solution.

The SBWcc WebCam Corder searches and downloads sites. It can be configured to automatically check back and download an updated Webcam site. The nag screen to register the application at launch is a drag, but the 10-second delay isn't too obnoxious. The application interface is a small (about 4 inches by 4 inches) window with a few fields for entering a URL and displaying download results. The appearance is purely functional, not elegant, and the color scheme is a bit garish, but the layout is simple to understand and use. The tabbed configuring panes also are simple to set up and use, so even novices should have no trouble putting this application to use.

In our tests, the WebCam Corder responded quickly and thoroughly, downloading an entire graphics-laden site in a few minutes. The same was true for our test at a Webcam site, which updated every 60 seconds. The application's built-in image viewer ran through the captured images in slide show fashion without a glitches.

This application works nicely for checking out site updates offline. The nag screen isn't a major obstacle to appreciating this Web tool, but the price on this piece of shareware may seem steep to some users.

During the installation process a piece of adware known as Aureate is installed on your system, inhabiting the Windows\System32 directory. Removing or quarentining it and the associated files will cause the program to cease to function. The enclosed ReadMe explains this, though there is no warning given during the installation process and no way of preventing its installation. <p> <p>The inclusion of adware in this software package is a violation of the Cnet download.com policies and has been reported. However, as of this time I have not received a reply from Cnet and no apparent action has been taken. <p> <p>Until this software is stripped of the included adware, I recommend AGAINST downloading and installing SBWcc Website Capture. <p> <p>Sincerely, <p>John Wilkinson <p>(Cnet forum moderator)

I've used this product for years now. It helps me do research, gather photographs, and to download websites to view later. The interface may seem advanced at first, but everything fell into place once i started using it. Great product, I must reccommend it to anyone!

Pretty nice software - performs as advertised. Since the software is not free why does the author feel the need to have spyware? You can't have it both ways - you either charge for the software or get revenues elsewhere, but NOT BOTH.
