  Pros

  - No other program does a better job of red eye removal

  Cons

  - Nothing major but I think the Reset button has a bug. It does not get enabled at times. And I think an Undo feature will be a better bet than Reset.

  Summary

  Some accomplished programs usually involve a little retouching after red eye removal; others simply fail to remove the red eye if it is not red enough. S10 RedEyes removes red eyes, period. The interface is not much as the basic objective here is just to remove red eyes. There are common functions like Resize, Crop, Rotate, Brightness and Tilt but that's about it. To remove the red eye, you need to select the dark part of the eye (the Iris) and click Remove. If the results are not to your satisfaction, you can adjust brightness levels for the iris and pupil. If it is still not Ok, you can opt for a replacement eye, which usually does the job. And you can also select from 4 different eye colors i.e. gray, brown, blue and green. I have tried to remove red eyes with a lot of programs but none of them ever came close to the ease with which I could do so with this program. And the end result is so perfect, I am permanently putting this in my toolbox. Kudos to the developer for such a great program. And guys, look no further for red eye removal.

• Best Red Eye Removal Software

  Pros

  I have half a dozen different photo editing software on my computer, but this is the only one I use for removing redness from eyes and for eye repair. Does a better job than all my other softwares.

  Cons

  Can not upgrade newer versions over top of older versions.

  Summary

  I would have given this a 5 star rating, but discovered after I upgraded to the newer version that the older version was still on my computer. So I guess this means that you need to uninstall the older version first. I wished that in the description it would have mentioned this so I could have upgraded in the proper manner. I can only testify to the "removal of redness" in this program because I have never used the other features. I have some great editing programs that do a very good job for other corrections of photos so I have never tried the other features of S10 RedEyes 3.1--it may do an excellent job with the other features, just have never tried them because I had no need. But I would always use this software to remove red eye redness--you can't get any better software for this. This feature is very easy to use and does not much explaining on how to use it. I highly recommend this software for removing or repairing red eyes.

  Pros

  Neat little utility. <p>Repairs red eye more easily than Photoshop, Helicon Filter, et al, and typically looks more natural. To get better results with other programs generally requires quite a bit more effort. And in those cases when the flash totally obliterates the cornea, their "replacement eye" makes all the difference. That feature alone makes it worth the $10, although you must be careful using it, since the eye is basically recreated, meaning it can be made bigger or smaller than actual size. (If you want to have some fun, take a picture of your cat or dog, and enlarge the eyes to about three times their normal size!)

  Cons

  You must be careful using the "replacement eye" feature, although it can easily be used for comic effect, if desired. If not, it can be a bit irritating, or may need additional touch-up using another program, like Photoshop. <p>Also, the replacement eye is a human eye, making it unsuitable for animal red(green) eye repairs, unless, of course, you have a sense of humor. <p> <p>Also, it has an ugly desktop icon.
