Wrap AVCHD files into a .m4v container without re-encoding and quality loss.
RewrapAVCHD lets you rewrap .mts, .m2ts and .m2t files to .m4v files. Those AVCHD files are not converted (no re-encoding), there is no quality loss. FastCut (and other tools that rely on QuickTime for media file handling) cannot handle ubiquitous AVCHD files directly. At first those files must be rewrapped. To process a file drop it onto the RewrapAVCHD icon or click on the Rewrap button in the main window and select a file. You can also rewrap multiple files at once. Simply drop several files or pick more than one file in the file picker by holding down the command key. However, this batch processing capability is reserved for owners of a FastCut license. You can find FastCut included in the same folder as the application file.
does exactly what it says. the "rewrap" takes all of a few seconds even for several minutes of video. the file then becomes natively openable by itunes/quicktime/picasa. sound works just fine too. file sizes are unchanged as well.
Cons
none that I can see
