• Hell to load softwear but decent after it's setup.

  cheap entry level P.O.S. System. Good enough to get the job done for a generic softwear.

  Cons

  customer support!!! I should say NO customer support! They wont even talk to you if you don't pay for their support even if it's software glitches & not user related. When you do finally get someone on the phone you can't understand what they're saying. Mak sure you have hours free to get someone on the phone.

  Summary

  If you have little money to get a P.O.S. & a lot of time to load everything yourself into the system this is an option. If you need a system up & running fast & reliable with some help don't look at this softwear.

  Pros

  The description made it sound like a good program.

  Cons

  Too many to list. Can't get it started. Tried this version and another one. This version locked-up at the set-up process and quit working. The other version wouldn't allow log-in or updates. I contacted tech support who referred me to Sales. They wanted to force me to pay $300 per year for support. Forget that! I'll find another program. Too many promises, but when the program won't even install properly, it's a waste of my time.

  Easy to install. Easy to configure core functions. Easy to train staff. Good value for the money.

  Cons

  Needs a little better documentation. Set up is quick, but inventory entry would benefit from a import utility.

  Summary

  I had some experience with RPE and when it came time to switch to a POS from a cash drawer at our schools' sports concession stand, I recommended this program. Almost every school sports program relies on volunteers for staffing, and the competency level for these people varies. RPE not only streamlines the process of taking orders, it also cuts down on the human error component when adding up the order or making change. For this reason alone it was worth the switch. The cool thing about RPE is that it is easy to set up and can be configured so that anyone can be trained to use the simple entry screens in 5 to 10 minutes. It has the capability to track and manage inventory, so now we can tell how much product to order for different events.

  Pros

  Very easy to setup even if you have never programmed a POS system. There are more reports than I will ever use. Can cost our and keep track of inventory. Makes payroll a snap.

  Cons

  Sometimes you get a tech that doesn't speak very clear English (India). Hasn't been a problem since I don't need to call them very often

  Summary

  I have a single stand alone bakery/deli. I purchased a used POS system that had RPE loaded on it. I contacted their tech support and they assisted me in getting it working with a temp copy of their software. I found it very easy to set up and program. Over the past 3 years I have needed very little support. Lately my hard drive crashed and they were very helpful in getting me back up and going. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a POS system that won't break the bank and can be setup w/o much help.
