Intuitive controls. You can convert 20% of a video with minimal clicks. Advanced functions are there and easy to access/use. I assume the $24 version is actually a pretty smart program.

Does batch conversions quickly.
Cons
Compared to other converters does a poor job at lower resolutions, when an A / B comparison is made in the same video authoring program. 320x240 resolution is very pixelated. 640x480 resolution is a closer match to other converters. Installation of the program was iffy. Took 3 tries, then still did not register as a program in windows xp sp2. Does not create it own folders.

The interface is easy.

Don't make the same mistake I did by buying this program first before tring it out. I bought it based on the feedback. This program had problems converting a 15 minute MOV file. It never completed it. After one hour I shut it down. What they don't tell you is that you need a DVD burner program if you don't already have one. In their help file they provide a link for a free one, however when you get there, its not free, its another 20 dollars. Magic Video Converter 7.9.0.6 provides both the converter and burner in one product for under $20. I tried that one and it worked fine, I liked the Magic Video better.
