Used RenPhoric for Windows?
Editors’ Review
If you've ever dreaded the prospect of manually changing numerous file names, RenPhoric is the program for you. It's nothing fancy, but it does provide an extremely easy way to find and replace specific file names anywhere on your computer. It's a great choice if you need to batch-rename images, songs, or any other files that you have too many of to deal with individually.
RenPhoric has a straightforward interface, with a button at the top that lets users navigate to the desired directory. From there, just start typing the file name you want to locate in the Search field, and RenPhoric will display a list of results containing your search string in real time as you type. To replace text, type your changes in the Replace field, RenPhoric will display a preview of your changes in the results list, letting you assess whether or not you actually want to make changes before you click the Replace button. RenPhoric supports the use of search expressions, too; for example, users can match any single character, match the beginning of a line, and so on. Users can also copy results to the clipboard or edit them in Notepad, which RenPhoric will open automatically. There's no Help file aside from a brief list of tips for getting started, but the program is fairly easy to figure out. Overall, RenPhoric isn't the most sophisticated program we've ever seen, but if you need a quick and easy way to locate particular files and change their names, it's definitely worth trying.
RenPhoric installs and uninstalls without issues.
