Update your Quake 4 game.

This update affects pure server and protocol consistency, and adds a number of other multiplayer fixes including support for QUAKE 4 TV. It will fully update any previous version of Quake 4 to version 1.4.2. It is recommended for all users. The read me has a complete listing of bug fixes as well as directions on how to operate QUAKE 4 TV. This update will be necessary for Mac users attempting to play multiplayer against PC users with the PC 1.4.2 patch.

Before this upgrade I was able to see 3 servers. After the upgrade, the same 3. Basically, the box states that you can play online but unless it is a pure Mac only server you can't. No logging in to servers that are PC. You would think that since the Mac is gaining market share all the time they would keep releases current? Boo to Aspyr for putting the Mac on the back burner and cheating their customers.

The update apparently disabled cross platform play (Windows and Linux) and can't play on Mac servers unless they are running v1.3. The single player runs fine but what is the point of a Quake game WITHOUT online multiplayer? Hopefully aspyr and id are working on this issue - I Contacted their support about this and they gave no info about any new updates/fixes....

This update should come with a refund of half the purchase price! Don't buy Quake 4 if you want to play online and don't upgrade if you haven't already!
