This game places a unique, ancient-Egyptian twist on the tried-and-true puzzle formula. In Puzzle Blast, your job is to eliminate gems from the board by matching them up with a variety of differently shaped rings. If you can't use one of the quickly falling rings, they begin to pile up. Once the pile gets too large or the clock runs out, you'll lose a life if you haven't completed the puzzle. We liked the attractive graphics and thought the Egyptian theme was a nice approach, though the music seems inappropriate. Even though we coasted through the first few puzzles in the game, they soon became more challenging and we became even more addicted. However, we would have preferred a broader feature set, as you can only set the levels for volume and sound effects. We also think the 60-minute trial limitation is fairly restrictive.
