ProCapture Free for Android

ProCapture Free adds advanced features to your Android camera. Its performance and the quality of its scene modes offset the ads and somewhat clumsy interface.

Pros

Good image quality: If you compare photos taken with your default camera with photos taken with ProCapture Free, you'll notice that the latter are crisper and more detailed. If you take the trouble to play with the exposure and use the scene modes, you can shoot some really nice images.

Shooting modes: Wide Shot mode enables you to link together three photos to create a beautiful, high-resolution, wide-angle-lens photo, while Reduced Noise mode captures two images that it then combines to reduce camera noise. You won't find these great features in many other camera apps.

Memory and SD card saving: This app lets you save images directly onto your phone's memory or SD card, saving you the trouble of moving them later.

Cons

Limited image quality: The app limits the image quality to 3.2MP, unless you pay $3.99 for the ProCapture version. But there are many other camera apps with similar features that let you take full advantage of your camera's capabilities without forcing you to upgrade.

Lacks video capture: The lack of a basic video capture mode makes this app less useful than it could have been.

Ads: The big banner at the bottom of the screen takes precious space and gets in the way whenever you try to use the slider to zoom in or to access the gallery.

Bottom Line

A capable camera app, ProCapture Free won't disappoint you with its performance, but because of its ads and limited image quality isn't as appealing as other free camera apps. If you're willing to buy the premium version to get rid of the ads and get the best image quality possible, however, this software might work.
