• Works as claims. No one can print without the password

  Pros

  Easy installation, and it did exactly what the company says it should do. I installed so far on 1 PC, but planning on installing on 5. I like the fact that I could give separate passwords to different printers. We have a 3D printer that is expensive to use, and I don't want just anyone printing to it.

  Glad I found this dandy little piece of software, it will save us lots of dollars.

  Pros

  I have 2 printers on my home network and I was able to password protect both, with different passwords. The kids can now use the cheaper one (still they need the password). My wife and I can use the more expensive printer. As soon as I print - a pop-up comes up asking for password. Works great.

  Cons

  Worked well, the only way to stop it (if you needed to), is through the software's admin console. Which I guess make sense. You would not want your kids to be able to uninstall or stop it.

  Summary

  This is the solution I have been looking for. Hopefully I will be spending a lot less on paper and toner!

  If you install it, to try it, good luck trying to uninstall.

  Cons

  I was able to find a away to delete by first going to regedit, then find "PRINTLOCK" I've found the path, then I was able to uninstall using revo uninstaller.

  Summary

  I don't understand why a software developer won't make easy for you to simply remove a software that you do not want. The harder Lockprint does to uninstall their software, the less people want this useless program.

• Perfect for stopping kids printing

  Pros

  Great little programme that does just what is expected. A password box pops up every time someone tries to print. The price on the website when clicking the "buy" button in the programme is only US$6.95.

  Cons

  Can be shutdown via task manager, so doesn't provide super strong protection (But I'm only trying to stop kids printing). Buying and registering the product is a bit awkward. I found I had to log off and on to get the registration form to show.

  Summary

  Perfect for stopping kids printing excessively without parents' permission. Registering was really awkward: I tested it, decided I liked it and wanted to buy. But the only way to get the 'buy' screen up to appear again was to log off and on. Then the window appeared, I clicked "buy", but the window stayed on top of all other windows. So I had to shut the window to buy the product. I then clicked "PrintLock" in the start menu, but because it wasn't running it tried to install the programme again! So log off and on yet again to display the registration screen. Final hiccup - I paid via PayPal on their website, but then didn't receive my unlock code. I have contacted them and am hoping for a response!<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Aug 5, 2009<p/>5 days on and I still haven't received my unlock code. I have emailed the company twice, but no response. Have now opened up an official dispute via eBay and will be claiming my full money back.

• Fails to deliver

  Pros

  Works fine for a month, then reverts to trial basis even after you've paid. No support at all.

  Cons

  No support, insecure. Doesn't work

  Summary

  I bought the product for my classroom. It worked for a while, then reverted to trial mode. No help from vendor. Forget it.

  I can not seem to uninstall it? Help would be appreciated

• Take back control over who can print and who can't.

  Pros

  Small, efficient program. Runs in the backround using few system resorces. Stops unauthorized printing cold! Its half the price of a single ink cartridge.

  Cons

  The only downside is the process can be ended via the "Task Manager" thus removing the protection.
