• BEWARE OF POTENTIAL SCAM

  On the whole it gives an overview of potential security threats and the layout is simple to understand.

  Cons

  Beware of this software as it is an attempt to scare you into buying thier software by exagerating the risk of being infected from potential and known security risk to your pc.

  Summary

  Essentially it's BUYER BEWARE . Don't rely on this program alone to judge whether you are at risk to harmfull infections on your pc or not .

  Pros

  I used Pivx PreView a few years ago, but now I "rediscovered it" when looking on my harddrive, where I stored the install file.

  Cons

  Doesn't recognise my Panda Internet Security 2007. <p> <p>Doesn't update anymore. <p> <p>Firewall test doesn't work no more.

  I would not use program as an acurate measuring stick for security, though it does have some merit. This program didn't detect my antivirus software (Clamwin), nor does it detect hardware firewalls and other commonplace security measures. <p> <p>If you are Windows and user truely worried about security make sure you get your windows updates, a good antivirus program (i.e. Grisoft's AVG Antivirus Free) and keep up to date.

  this is the first "homeopathic " antivirus ! <p> <p>if you believe in it, it works !

  Does NOT work. <p>Does NOT detect many common viruses and spywares <p>And sometimes it crashes the computer. <p>I do not recommend.

  Pros

  The interface is fine. The info is better. You not only see what you have patched, but what you don't have patched. That is vital info. Having Anti-virus nowadays isn't enough and a firewall is only one defense that isn't completely full proof. The idea of securing the loopholes in your Operating System before your OS is brought to it's knees by an exploit can not only save your grief, but can save your identity, your data, and your peace of mind. The qwikfix program they are trying to sell is used by quite a few large companies as well...cough "microsoft" cough. -nuff said

  have to pay to play...lol I'd rather pay a few bucks than spend 1 1/2 days configing my box or talking to some dude in India on just how great their restore cd is...weeee....lost all my data yet again, not!!! Cuz I ghost my hard drives. Wooohoooo ^_^

  when u remove this do u think its really gone? not! it leaves a file that makes u voulnable to attacks!!its in your temp alll users folder. it leaves a little program there that can lower your security!

  A thorough and comprehensive security check. I like the score idea and the resolution it offers; it means running on a regular basis will spot subtle security flaws. The active system hardenening is a good idea, I work in IT & my PC(s) suffer the "cobblers shoes" syndrome...I never have the time or the energy to faff around configuring several machines; I just want to get on & use them! So I guess the qwik-fix software seems worth a try...a lazy man's solution, but hey! <p>Seems to offer a heck of a lot for free.

  Cons

  Didn't detect my Anti-Virus software accurately, lowering my score. I'll post this on the pivx forum & see if it gets a response. Will repost here whether the experience is good or bad. <p>Think the sales link is a bit heavy handed, but I guess what can you expect for free. Still, I reckon their stuff is worth a try.
