Postfix Enabler can help Mac OS X users set up a totally functional buzzword-compliant mail server in less than a minute, the Mac Way. It sets up SMTP, POP3 and IMAP services, with or without SSL support. It even sets up SSL test certs so that you can test the SSL connection. It enables SASL Authentication so you can connect to ISPs who require the SMTP connection to be authenticated. Or, the other way around, it allows you to turn on SMTP-AUTH on the server, so you can authorize remote users who need to send mail through it. Plus, it has a few other features, including the ability to set up a roving SMTP server for PowerBook users to send mail wherever they are, whenever they want, so long as they have an Internet connection.

I think it does what it says it does, and for ten bucks? how can I complain? If you have problems with port 25 use gmail! it's an encrypted port which is never blocked!
Good for tech savvy types, but not as easy to use...

...as described
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
If you have any sort of problem with this shareware, Bernard Teo is great about responding to emails, but I find his documentation and explanations (both online and via email) difficult to understand and unclear.
I don't want to speak for everyone, but for me as a "Mac person" I need simple software, that works and when it does not, I need clear, simple, step-by-step instructions how to resolve issues. I would suggest that he get some help improving his documentation as this would make Postfix Enabler easier to use.
Right now, since I cannont understand his instructions for getting around an ISP that blocks port 25 or how to set up my own mailserver, Postfix only works from my office. At home I still have to manually select my local ISP's smtp when MacMail cannot send using "localhost."
The whole reason I bought this was so I would never have to do that annoying task everytime I change locations/ISP's on a roving MacBook Pro. Postfix Enabler and Bernard Teo have, unfortunately, been unable to help.
Perhaps one day someone will explain it to me and when they do, it will be worth the $10. Untill then, close, but no cigar.

It's easy to use, it works, and it's fully supported - in short, it's worth every penny. My only request would be that if you change something in one of the text fields, that it inform you before quitting that it offers to restart Postfix for you to act on the new configuration.
Does the job perfectly...

Admittedly the mail server it sets up is a tad basic (personally I'm just using it as a secondary IMAP store anyhow, so that's no big deal), but whaddya want for 10 bucks?! ;-)
The developers should be commended - a really well thought-out little app.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
For those of us who don't want to edit text files every time we want to switch any of these features on or off, this is excellent. The IMAP mail package is a surprise bonus, unrelated to Postfix but very welcome. Great work and well worth ten dollars for the thought and time that have gone into making this so effective. I started with Sendmail Enabler and then v1.0 of Postfix Enabler under Panther - the feature list has grown, the interface has continually improved and I'm pleased to see its progress.
