  Used to be a great app, but no longer being actively updated and has fallen behind the times.

  Unfortunately, this app is no longer being developed and, for example, iTunes now requires higher quality images that are 1400x1400px. This app however downgrades the podcast images to 600x600 and 144x144. I just had my 243 episode podcast rejected and removed by iTunes for this reason and possibly others. It's really too bad the developer of this software isn't keeping it updated to iTunes required settings. I've sent him numerous support emails over the past 2-3 years and they have all gone unanswered. I wish someone would purchase the app and give it a good update because there isn't any other Mac software out there that does what this app used to do quite well.

  Summary

  I cannot recommend this app any longer. Don't waste your money buying it. Try the trial and then try to submit to iTunes and you'll see that you won't be accepted.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />The publicity blurb on the Potion Factory Web site states â??If you are thinking about podcasting, but think you can't do it because you're not geek enough, stop reading this right now and hit the download button.â?? and to a large extent they are right. This is one of the slickest Podcast programs to come to market so far. It is a combination of an enhanced Podcast authoring tool, an RSS feed generator and ftp tool. It all works pretty nicely with some smart touches. The Feed generator lets you find files for inclusion in you Podcast such as movies, audio files or PDFs. It lets you add the usual RSS tags and the special iTunes tags that are needed for submission to iTunes. The enhanced Podcast tool has a nice simple interface that allows you to drag and drop images onto your chapter. You can drag your chapter markers after you have placed them if things donâ??t quite sync up. The timeline can be zoomed if you need to do some detailed marker work, which is a nice touch. I would have liked to have been able to set custom sizes for the images I put into my Podcasts. In education for example you might want bigger images so that they can be read. There didnâ??t seem to be any possibility of changing the quality of the audio either, which might have been nice. My only significant problems with the program came at the server setting point. Setting up ftp was a bit of a pain and not exactly ungeeky. I had a few issues setting up my Poadcast as there was no sftp and no .Mac support. I even had to read the help file which is a sure sign of problems. So in general a nice slick program that does a good job with a difficult process but it needs to give more options to the user in terms of output and image size and sort out the server configuration.
