- This game came as a great surprise to me. It is a simple yet engaging strategy game with vast expansion possibilities. You can pick it up and play for a few minutes at a time, but this seems to turn into an hour or more at a time. I recommend it not only because of what you get "out of the box", but because you can get a unit editor as a free download, as well as user mods, which are additions to the base game. The mods can be units, structures or entire game overhauls. As a side note on the editor, it is the easiest editor I have ever used. My first time using it I had made 3 new units in about half an hour. You also get unparalleled tech support if needed. I had a question about the editor, and received a response in less than 10 minutes. (Seriously!) Buy this game

Developer’s Description

Version 1.58 changes Pocket War by removing a lot of the randomness that used to be in the game. This allows the player to calculate the exact amount of damage a unit will do to a city, or another unit. This allows the player to make much more strategic moves. This version also removes all of the "futuristic" units and replaces them with modern day instruments of war and updates the images for all the units and cities to give Pocket War a more realistic look.
The installer includes both the PC and Pocket PC versions of the game.
