This convenient war-based strategy adventure fits in your pocket but requires a hefty commitment to learn the rules of the game. Pocket War's interface is built for a Pocket PC handheld device. The game unfortunately has no tutorial, but does include with installation a handful of help files that take far too long to sift through. While the game has, given its format, primitive sound effects and basic 2D graphics, it's easily overcome by an interface that offers plenty of options to address various strategic challenges. To move your battle units, you set behavioral patterns (such as defend or explore) rather than simple commands to move right or left. The computer's programming is sophisticated enough that if a unit is left without direction, it will on its own shift to the most logical spot. Advanced features include the option to create your own units. One of the biggest drawbacks, aside from the game's difficulty, is the demo version's inability to save a game. Overall, for strategy fans this handheld game should provide hours of entertainment.

The worst game pro or con. Has horrible griphics and is better to play marbles then to even try this game.

It's a super fun game. I've been playing it for quite a while and it is still fun. The improvements in the new version make it even better. The new icons are better and the gameplay has improved since it is now less random.
Cons
Just wish it worked on my phone. How about a J2ME version.

This game came as a great surprise to me. It is a simple yet engaging strategy game with vast expansion possibilities. You can pick it up and play for a few minutes at a time, but this seems to turn into an hour or more at a time. I recommend it not only because of what you get "out of the box", but because you can get a unit editor as a free download, as well as user mods, which are additions to the base game. The mods can be units, structures or entire game overhauls. As a side note on the editor, it is the easiest editor I have ever used. My first time using it I had made 3 new units in about half an hour. You also get unparalleled tech support if needed. I had a question about the editor, and received a response in less than 10 minutes. (Seriously!) Buy this game
