We've reviewed innumerable screen-capture utilities, ranging from tiny bare-bones programs to those that are practically image editing suites unto themselves. Plixia definitely falls closer to the bare-bones end of the spectrum, offering the very basics in screen-capture features and not much else. There are plenty of other programs that can do much more, but if you only need the basics, Plixia is worth looking at.

When Plixia is running it appears as an icon in the system tray. Double-click on it and your screen will go slightly gray, letting you know that Plixia is active. Then simply select the area you want to capture with your cursor and release; Plixia will automatically display your image in a plain interface with a few buttons that give you options for working with it. You can copy the image to the clipboard, save it, print it, or delete it. That is the entirety of what Plixia does; there are no other features and no Help file. Although we are partial to screen-capture tools that can grab the active window, full screen, or a selected part of the screen automatically, if you don't like fooling around with a bunch of features, Plixia is the program for you. What it lacks in ability it makes up for in simplicity.

Plixia comes as a ZIP file. It installs and uninstalls without issues.

Getting used to the snipping tool of Win7 at home, I needed something similar at work. Snippy 1.0 does it! Easy, straight forward getting any caption of the screen!
Cons
Be careful, there seems to be a new Snippy 1.0 on download.com, which does not copy to your clipboard!
Summary
Look for the blak scissor icon in oyur system tray after installing. The orange one is not good!

I download and install this program everywhere I work (especially at idiot companies who have not upgraded from XP.) It's simplicity it self to capture any section of screen you want and paste them into documents. I

It's easy to use, I thought it would be the same Snippy as the one we use at school but it isn't. But it's just as good :)

I liked this product because it helped me with my ICT Coursework, as I have to screen shot every piece of work I do. So this helped to get the pieces of work I actually wanted to screen shot :)

You can save the shot as a file, copy the image to your clipboard, print it, or just cancel the shot.
