• Works OK, but beware of associating image file types.

  User settings and actions can be quite difficult to undo.

  Summary

  After deleting it (*not* because it was unsatisfactory) I noticed my image file types were still associated with the program. No support from the publisher, WnSoft. I had to go back through Control Panel>Folder Options>Advanced and reset each file type in order to restore the originals. That was a PITA.

• Something you definitely want to keep

  Fast. Free. Gets most of your picture editing job done. Intuitive to use.

  I was looking for something more powerful then most picture viewing/editing program. I also hate those programs take a long time to load as many times I need to get the program up and start to do things. To be honest, most of use are only doing quick fixes so we can have it ready for use. One thing I do often is to take portions of different pictures and put them into a new pictures. Certainly each pictures may needs sizing and editing before that. It fits my need perfectly and I am up and running in no time. Keep up the good work.

  Pros

  Loads fast, small size, more features than I expected from a free program, opens PSD's, albeit not as layers and starts up fast. If you've used Photoshop in the past this has a familiar feel. Can use some Photoshop plugins.

  Cons

  Can't save as .PSD

  Summary

  For a small free program this is quite powerful, and if you don't have or can't afford Photoshop this is a viable alternative. Most of the common graphic manipulation tools are covered. To be fair to PixBuilder Studio, if you need (need is different to want) all the bells and whistle of Photoshop then you need to stump up a lot of cash. For really basic stuff you can finish it in around the time it takes Photoshop to load up.

  Pros

  PixBuilder Studio works really fast. You needn't wait to launch the program. Don't look at small size of this program. It contains enough tools for professional image editing, including layers and color correction.

  Cons

  Authors should improve Free Transform function for text layers.

  Summary

  Best free image editing software with professional functions.
