If you're stockpiling your digital images in a folder on your PC, Picolino offers a simple way to upload and share them on their site. While it doesn't have the same name recognition as other photo sharing sites, it is easy to use.

You'll need to enter a valid e-mail address and password when Picolino first launches, but it takes only seconds to get your account set up so you can quickly begin uploading your images. The interface is clean and simple, with only a few options that include viewing the Overview page, starting a new album, or managing existing albums on the right, and lots of white space overall. There's some redundancy since the Overview page has the same options to create or edit albums, but this is the kind of duplication that we don't mind. Whether you're adding a new album or modifying one you've already uploaded, the steps are much the same. You can give the album a name and add password protection and, of course, add images. The only downside was that Picolino doesn't support drag and drop, but you can select multiple files to add. You can reorder the images as you add them for upload and there's an Edit icon that opens a new window with a handful of options to optimize the photo, including adjusting contrast and sharpness or adding a sepia or gray tone. You don't need to be a photo editing master as the optimization choices are applied as soon as you select one. We really liked that Picolino displayed the original next to the modified image so you could see which one you like more. As soon as you're happy with the results, it's one click to upload a new album or add images to one you've already created. A new window shows the status of your upload, and when it's finished it displays the link to your online album.

We didn't have any issues installing or using Picolino, and it's recommended for any user. With the trial version, you can only upload 55 images, but the process is so simple that it will only take one or two photos to master this program.

Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of Picolino 2013.
