Typical of freeware, FotoSaver combines a good set of features for managing your photos with a poorly designed interface. It's difficult to browse and edit photos, and the program window cannot be maximized. Image-editing actions are limited to rotation. Many of the creation features are standard to photo-album software: Choose the photos you want in an album; view them by date, size, and filename; play a slide shows; share photos via e-mail; and make prints. However, some interesting enhancements distinguish the program from its competitors. Searching becomes more satisfying, for example, thanks to the ability to enter lengthy descriptions and keywords for each image in your collection. FotoSaver certainly will earn its keep for anyone who needs help organizing and managing extensive image libraries, but the poor interface is very hard to ignore.

Fotosaver stores an almost unlimited number of photos--each with a title and text--in a FotoAlbum. The FotoAlbum can make two- and three-level Web sites with text; prints huge posters. FotoAlbums can be encrypted and sent our private FTP, including attachments of any file type. It has unlimited keywords and several sorts. It resizes photos fast; has text that supports Unicode and can be in languages including Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Hebrew, Russian, Scandinavian, and Korean. You can export and import to Microsoft Access.
