Phishing Detector for Windows

This tiny program is designed to detect fraudulent e-mails sent to your Outlook Express mailbox, but it simply failed to identify phishing e-mails during our tests.

Installation is fast and simple; Phishing Detector adds itself as an extra button on your Outlook Express toolbar. A phishing e-mail attempts to trick users into believing the e-mail is from a legitimate source. Phishing Detector is not friendly for most users that receive dozens of e-mails a day. The program doesn't check e-mails as they arrive. You have to test each e-mail individually.

We tested this application by introducing known fraudulent emails. We found the program didn't detect anything suspicious. Phishing is a serious problem, and this application doesn't solve that problem. We recommend users test one of the stronger applications in this category.
