Peak - Brain Training for iOS

Peak enables you to train your brain with a number of brain-boosting exercises.

Pros

Goal setting: When you first set up Peak, it asks you several questions about your specific goals for brain training. For instance, it will ask you what specific aspects of your memory or focus you want to work on. This helps provide a custom-tailored experience.

Fun game design: There are a lot of brain-training applications now available on the App Store. No matter how good something might be for you, it has to be fun if it is going to keep your attention. Luckily, the games in Peak are addictively fun and kept us coming back for more.

Graphic and sound design: Both the visuals and the sound effects in Peak are excellent. The app is easy on the eyes, which is important when you need to concentrate hard on the screen, as you do here. The soundtrack and effects are also appealing, which isn't always the case with these types of games.

Cons

Lots of personal information: The application requires that you enter quite a bit of personal information before you can use it. Although this is ostensibly gathered for the purpose of making the app more useful to you, there is no easily visible guarantee about how that information is used, and no way to opt out of offering it.

Bottom Line

The strong design elements and the fun games are enough to make Peak an excellent brain-training option.
