While this PDF conversion tool is a solid bet for most text formatting, it stumbles when faced with more advanced documents. PDF2Office Personal is a plug-in for Microsoft Word for Windows, allowing you to open, edit, and convert PDF documents into Word documents. During testing, we were impressed with the program's accuracy in translating documents containing both text and basic graphics. However, documents with tables and text boxes, for example, came out distorted and difficult to read. While the program seemed to convert documents rapidly, we weren't able to thoroughly test its speed given its trial limitations (only the first 5 pages of a document are converted). While PDF2Office Personal is comparable in price to many of its competitors, its inability to work well with advanced formatting and lack of additional features keep it off our recommended list.

Version 4 is fully compliant with Windows Vista and integrates completely with the Office 2007 interface via the PDF2Office ribbon.
