  Have to use a specific folder, Merge done by filename order, NEEDS .net framework installed!

  Readme shows that I have to place files in a specific folder. Merge is done by filename order making lots more work to merge various files. I couldn't install/use it as it wanted the .net framework ... This programme only merges and splits PDFs, why on earth does in need that to work?!!!

  The best app for merging PDFs, bar none.

  Splitting and merging is all it does, and there's always renaming of files to be done. Interface is well . . . Same thing the other reviews said. (That screen shot is hilarious, by the way, CNet.)

  Summary

  PDF Helper is the easiest utility (even more so than Acrobat) for combining a bunch of PDFs into one big PDF. With Acrobat, you have to "merge" or "insert" or whatever for each individual PDF, and that takes time. PDF merges them all in like 2 seconds. Bango. If you can get over the hack-ish nature of the interface (gift horse, mouth, etc.) then this is a must-have for anyone who does a lot of PDF scanning.

  Simple and functional application. For free, I'd call it a bargain for anyone needing a simple utility to combine separate PDF files into one single file. The readme.PDF is as simple and clear as the use of the program

  There's no built-in dialog box to select files for input/output and no option to rename the combined/splt output. Silly in an age where there are plenty of dialog-box building tools included in development apps like Visual Basic, Java, C#

  Summary

  This is a simple bottom-end utility for quick PDF file assembly/splitting. The lack of a Windows-style interface is a disapointment although as a free utility, it's usable. It certainly won't sufice for less savy Windows-annointed users, but it's servicable for relatively little effort. It's far easier to use another application (ie. PDFCreator) to generate one PDF from multiple sources at the time of creation, but where you've already got the separate files and only want to combine them, this'll do.

  Pros

  Quick and easy to download and use. Works very well and it does not increase the file size beyond what seems logical (when you combine two files together). Excellent. I'm happy.

  Cons

  Most of us don't RTFM and this utility reminds us that we should. However, its not a show stopper and its easily understood.
