The engine is based on Modular Object Oriented technology, which allows you to create true object oriented programs using almost any language. The software includes the following features: supports both Windows and Linux for cross platform development; run-time debug output for easy debugging; low resource usage with load on demand processing; dynamic resource tracking helps minimize errors and identify memory leaks; supports both application and game development; integrated ZIP compression; supports PNG, PCX, JPEG and IFF picture files; audio support for sample playback, includes streaming capabilities; digital music support - MOD, MP3, XM, IT and S3M formats included; full support for Unicode characters (UTF-8 formatted strings); publicly available source code.

Version 2003/6 features: added an updatemessage() function to the kernel; opacity support added to blitarea(); added a setopacity method to the render class; added a fade class for adding fade effects to window layers; added a timer preservation feature to the subscribetimer() function; classes can now hook into the assignment system and act as plug-ins for assignment resolution; fixed bug in condition testing in the script class.
