Great Little App

- Summary
- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been using Pando for a few weeks and truly enjoying the simplicity compared to the others available in Leopard. I am a Christian and really love the scripture pop-up. Keep it that way! Thanks Panda Systems!
Can't disable Jesus pop-up

- Summary
- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I see the warning "small Christian calendar" here on the VersionTracker site; but you won't find any such warning on the developer's site. I'm writing this as a review, not a rant or comment, because I'm talking about a function of the application itself, namely the annoyance of a pop-up which occurs at midnight when I'm on the computer. There's a preference for turning off "Use Faith's Checkbook," but none for turning off this annoying Bible-text pop-up. I wouldn't have wasted my time checking out this application and figuring out how to use it, had I known this would happen. Had there been "full disclosure" up front, I would feel no need to register this unforeseen annoyance here. To those who will no doubt attach comments criticizing my criticism, well, just remember, not all of us are Christian. Some of us were and now aren't, some of us never have been. Many of us don't want to be, and ALL of us already know what it's all about. So naturally many of us consider this to be a sneaky, subtle form of proselytizing. The developer should advise people up front about it. And by the way, I wouldn't want pop-ups advocating for refreshing mountain spring water, either, so it's not JUST about religion. Being a religious pop-up only makes it even more annoying.
Working better than ever

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I has this for years on my old macs. When I went up to X I missed it. It's great to see it back again and working well! This is a really good calendar that blends unobtrusively into your desktop. As for the pop up message. I don't mind it or find it invasive. Just don't use the app if you don't like the terms of use. You'll be the one missing out on a useful tool.

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
â?¦I miss the ability of viewing all the now called events in a single window. That way I could check if there was a missing event without having to remember the specific date. BTW I set the reminder sound "purr" to 99 and that made the app crash.
Nice update

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I thought this fine little application had been abandoned but it sure is nice to see it back. So far no serious bugs to report and I'm also glad to see it's now universal. Thank you for the update.
Nearly flawless, indispensable little app.

- Summary
- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Pando Calendar is a virtually perfect, completely indispensable little app. that launches in a blink, shows each day's notes in a balloon by just moving the cursor over the day, and best of all - lets you search (CMD-F) all of its contents and notes. The search feature is indispensable for finding things like "first day of new job," "Deb's birthday," etc. And the database is exportable - extremely handy for keeping a sort of de facto journal. Did I mention it's FREE!!` As to it being a Christian calendar, it simply gives you a CHOICE whether or not to see a once a week popup bible verse on Sunday.
Screen redraw

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've used this from the 'classic' days till now. It's always been stable and updated. Sadly it appears from the web site that nothing has happened since October 2003. I'm wagering that with iCal and it's continued development that iCal will eventually supersede Pandocalendar. Certainly the screenshots of upcoming 'Tiger' show a java widget that looks similar to Pandocalendar. As for updates, I still have a screen redraw problem with Pandocalendar where it gets garbled with a background, or another window or even nothing at all. This was happening before the update on October 2003 and still manifests itself today :/
I have used this in Classic and in X and found it...
