OurWorld is both entertaining and educational. It consists of two lists (travel and a general checklist), regional facts, and quizzes. The lists can be used to keep track of countries you have visited (travel), or collections of international objects (stamps, currency, coins, etc...). The lists are easy to use and allow the user to personalize them by taking a picture and writing notes. Progress in each list is recorded differently: international flags are used to indicate the progress in travel, and a grid is used to display the progress in the general checklist. The regional facts section includes images of each country's flag. The facts for each country include the capital, the 2-letter and 3-letter abbreviations, and demographic information (population, area, and density). There are links to the Wikipedia pages on the various countries, and maps indicating the location of each capital.The quizzes are a great way to test knowledge of capitals, populations, areas, and densities. This app generates an endless supply of quiz questions based on the information contained in the section of regional facts. Quiz scores for questions about each category are recorded separately. This app includes iAds, and is free. There will be a paid version of the app which will allow the user to store multiple checklists, and will have more challenging and varied quizzes.This version of the app requires iOS 4.0 or above. The paid version of the app will work on earlier versions (3.1 and above).
