OpenTasks APK for Android

Minimalistic and easy to use, Tasks satisfies the essential task management needs of busy professionals. However, this app has been developed to be used in conjunction with the premium apps CalDAV-Sync beta and SmoothSync for Cloud Calendar, which means that if you're not using those apps, you cannot enjoy task-syncing with your calendar. Two other missing features are task notifications and categories.

After a quick installation, Tasks presents you with a neat interface that lets you easily create tasks and sort them according to due & start dates, priority, and progress. The interface is so straightforward that no tutorial is included, or necessary. Apart from the usual task details like title, status, time, and location, the app also lets you choose how much of the task has been already completed (as a percentage), set privacy levels, and insert a relevant URL -- options which not many other task managers offer, not even premium ones. What's missing, though, is the ability to group or categorize tasks, as well as reminders for due tasks. Recurring tasks are not yet available, but will be implemented in the next version. In terms of performance, the app runs smoothly even when loaded with many tasks.

With its accessibility, convenience, and pleasing design, Tasks proves to be a good solution if you're in need of a fast and lightweight task manager that doesn't require too many taps or distracts you with unnecessary features. Before downloading it, though, keep in mind that you cannot use task-syncing unless you buy certain premium calendar apps.

Note: Starting with this version support for Android 2.x, 3.x and 4.0 has been dropped. OpenTasks now requires Android 4.0.3 or higher.
