NoScript can help you safeguard your computer by blocking JavaScript and other similar programs from running when you're browsing on Firefox. There are several ways you can set permissions through this program, and the right configuration for you will depend on your browsing habits and specific security concerns.

Pros

Permission options: There are quite a few ways you can give permission for scripts to run or block them using this program. You can choose to block them completely, allow temporary permission for a particular site, or always allow for a particular site. You can also give permission for all sites opened from bookmarks, or you can create a Whitelist of allowed sites.

Blockable programs: JavaScript isn't the only program this app is capable of blocking. In fact, you can choose to allow or block Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight, and other plug-ins as well, all from the same convenient interface.

Cons

Time-consuming setup: While it's nice that this program offers so many options for customization, it also means it can take a long time to set up. Because of this, your Internet usage patterns and security concerns will go a long way toward determining whether the benefits of this program make the time investment worthwhile.

Cannot use in Firefox 40

Pros
The software was recommended as getting rid of the mess with scripts, by Windows Secrets.
Cons
Cannot install, it is not compatible with Firefox 40.0.2.
Summary
Really want to be able to get rid of all these script problems, but it seems that nothing really works except deleting Java, Flash etc.
This is a wonderful tool, but requires time investment

Pros
This tool will stop various elements from being executed from within a webpage of a supported browser. Within the alert by pressing alt and the script element block message you are taken to a resource page which may be able to help you understand what that website or script is up to and if you want to allow it. It also allows you to allow a script temporarily or permanently. or to disable it for a particular domain (although not encouraged because any website could be potentially hacked unknown to the user which is the point of no-script)
Cons
Initially it is somewhat confusing to understand how to investigate a website and what the information means in terms of "do I want to allow this to run an if so is it just for this instance or permanently?" Ultimately, with time and patience the user will start to identify those sites that they perhaps want to avoid due to the tons of scripting going on that is quite simply pointless. It also makes the user much more aware of what websites do and allows the user to be more aware of their environment. Knowledge is power.
Summary
A very useful program, but requires a substantial time investment for those persons who are not already programmers to interpret and understand. For those who apply themselves the tool is excellent in keeping the user in better control of their web surfing.
Great blocking those annoying ads that obscure the page

Great for blocking all of those annoying ads that obscure the page.speeds up page loading considerably on those pages with many ads. Considerably reduces bandwidth usage.
Cons
Requires a lot of permissions to effectively use some sites.
Summary
Great for general use. Requires your browser to learn a lot of pages where you need the script for the page to be useful.
Does not work at all.

I can't list any pros. It doesn't work at all.
Cons
It's impossible for me to use. I can't even bring up the program. I downloaded it several times. There's no icon to click on to start the program. I understand that there should be a small letter S, and clicking on it should bring up a menu. No such icon exists, even after several downloads. There's simply no way to run the software.

It seems to offer the moon.
Cons
It took a little time to realize why my normal reading items were not appearing. The omnibus "default" condition had me always answering yes to see what I had previously seen without hassle.
Summary
It may be the solution for someone who has the time and patience to fool with it. I gave up when my on-line banking became more difficult than before NoScript.

Pros
Stops unwanted scripts from running. You can allow scripts to run for trusted sites, while blocking scripts from others.
Cons
The only con I've seen is that sometimes, opening the browser opens the no script page in another tab. I think it's just asking to donate to support the developers. Because it's free. And since it's free, I'll get over it. Oh, and it might frustrate non-tech users browsing the internet. But, it's usually for your computer's own good.
Summary
NoScript is awesome. I have experience removing viruses from computers, returning everything back to normal after someone goes to a random website that automatically slips a virus onto the system. If it happened to me now, I could probably fix it. But, I'd rather not have to. And now I really don't have to. Because I have NoScript. I have been using my computer with NoScript for about a year and a half. I have gone to hundreds of different websites that I would not normally trust. But since I have NoScript, I really don't have to worry. All of the random ads and trashy spam on the sides is just disabled. I have not had one single virus ever since I've installed NoScript. And that is quite awesome in my opinion. I don't have anything bad to say, really. If you have people using your computer that may go on questionable sites (despite the fact that you ask, "please don't go on random websites"), you'll do yourself a favor by installing NoScript.

Works well stopping script.
Cons
Noscript bypassed Firefox global settings for "NO Updates". I chose to not allow any plugins to automatically update. Then today, I learned that Noscript had bypassed/ignored that option. I had to manually set Noscript for no auto updates, by going to its Plugin window and checking the box for no auto updates.
Summary
I never allow updates because this is another way for software to send personal info to outside locations, so I think this issue should be addressed.

Easy to block/unblock sites
Cons
Not easy to figure out what blocked site is preventing stuff from being displayed. Also, it periodically nags you to donate by opening up the developers webpage. No version for Chrome yet.
Summary

Doesn't slow system. Works almost perfectly, always. Prob better for people used to computers, rather than first-timers. Also, keeps all youtube-type vids from infecting u.
Cons
Spend too much time "temporarily allowing" a lot of things. A control panel to streamline would be great. Not that big of a deal, tho. No real cons
