Does the job
preshere- Pros
- Small program (222k), easy to install, allows long-term game play with anyone with Internet access and includes moves list on screen. There are no ads, no bugs to buy a product, no evaluation limitations, no web browser pop-ups and no spyware.
- Cons
- A router may prevent this program from working. NetChess doesn't tell the user what the "default" connecting port is. Knowing the port number is essential for configuring port forwarding a multi- PC home network hosted by a router, a configuration that is becoming more common in American households. Luckily, there is an option to enter a different port number. If you have a router (that utilizes Network Address Translation), be sure to pick an unused port number, set up port forwarding for that port and set the same port number in the connection dialog. Lastly, be sure to tell your chess buddy to duplicate the same settings if he has a router using NAT.
- Summary
Almost perfect.
ramdac- Pros
- I can play with friends over the internet with this, and even change the port. It's lightweight and is quick/easy to install. I like that it keeps a clock showing you your running time.
- Cons
- Now, couple of annoyances. When it saves a game, it won't load it up so you can replay-- the application just crashes. Secondly, you can't "castle" in this game--that's my biggest complaint.

Here's something people need to think about before they write a review
- Pros
- Cons
- Summary
- If the program is called "NetChess" and the program was specifically built for two-player chess matches, why are you giving it a bad review because it doesn't allow you to practice against the computer? Don't you think that's kind of dumb. It's like saying that an HTML editor sucks because it doesn't have WYSIWYG.
Good programm, if you use it what it's for

- Summary
- This is a program for playing chess with a friend over the net. And for this use it's quite good. You cannot use it on your own, there is no chess computer included. If you want to play chess with a friend I highly recommend this program, if you want to play against a computer try "Arasan". I'm using Netchess on a computer with WinXP and it works despite what the OS information says, but it's only a hint, use it on your own risk.

Es un juego noble y potente para jugar en red
- Pros
- Cons
