  Pros

  - buy and download individual songs you really like - almost every song is available, even songs from 80s and 90s - cheap price as light member (pay as you go)

  Cons

  - missing the napster chatrooms as it was 12 years ago - sometimes you can't buy single songs, you've to buy the whole album - only available in certain countries, for instance: Germany, UK and Canada

  Summary

  It's a great software to buy and download individual songs; prefer downloading at Napster than buying CDs, which could have songs you don't like

  Cons

  The only option for downloads is 256 kbps CBR mp3 files. This is O.K., but Napster needs to catch up with the times and offer a variable bit rate option for smaller file size, as well as a 320 kbps constant bit rate option for high quality.

  Summary

  For a measly $5 a month you get 5 mp3 downloads AND you can stream any of the music on Napster. You can listen to whole songs and even albums, not just 30 second clips like some other music sites. They also offer a Napster-to-Go subscription which allows you to put as much music as you want on your Mp3 player without having to purchase the individual songs. All Mp3 downloads are DRM free!! The page layouts, library and playlists management, and search functions are all top notch. The news, reviews, and staff picks are good as well. If you love music, you can't afford NOT to give Napster a try. In my honest opinion, it beats the pants off of iTunes.

  Pros

  I enjoy listening to full albums, not just individual songs. With napster, you can hear the whole album of most artists for $5/month.

  Cons

  Some artists limit songs to 30 seconds. A few artists are missing: Beatles, Rammstein. This is OK - there is a lot to listen to. Napster website did not work for my computer, I had to download the software.

  Summary

  I have now paid for napster for 3 months - and plan to continue. You can listen to napster for free (no registration or anything) - type "free napster" into google. I choose to pay $5 because you get credits to download 5 songs, unlimited plays instead of just 3 per song, and it saves lists of the albums I like to hear.

  Seems to have the same library as the other streaming music services (at least Rhapsody, that being the only one I have used) Price is substantially lower ($5/mo with 5 mp3 credits compared to Rhapsody's $12.99)

  I've been with Rhapsody for the last three years and always liked their service. The music quality and selection was great. Napster was the first one that I had tried and didn't like it when it was re-released as a subscription service. I found that Rhapsody had a better selection. So for the last few years I've been a Rhapsody customer until the other day I had came across BestBuy.com promoting Napster at $5.00/mo for unlimited streaming and 5 mp3 downloads. I thought it was a hoax at first. But, at 5 dollars, it was worth a shot. I really do like the web browsing functionality of the service (Rhapsody also has the same) and the sound quality is crystal clear. If you can remember back, Napster was offering free streaming music, however the sound was very low quality, and I feared that it would be the same in this instance however I was proved wrong. So far, it seems to have the same music selection as Rhapsody, and if it is indeed the same, the price blows Rhapsody away. I recommend it with the experience I have had this far.

  Summary

  I used to use Rhapsody before I switched to this, hoping that maybe this would be better. I was wrong. It was 5x worse than Rhapsody. It did not have songs that Rhapsody had even though it claimed to have 7 million songs which is 1 million more than RHapsody. When you search for songs it is very slow and sometimes unresponsive. I highly suggest you stay away from this program. It isn't even worth paying monthly for.
