The app is free to download and requires users to be at least 15 years old and a citizen to set up an account. It employs the Australian Trusted Digital Identity Framework to protect user data, ensuring that personal information is not shared without consent.

The setup process involves downloading the app, entering personal information including name and birth date, and providing documentation for identity verification. MyGovID incorporates high-level encryption technologies, including fingerprint and facial recognition, to secure user access. This application is particularly valuable for Australian citizens, streamlining access to a variety of government services while maintaining a strong focus on privacy and security.
