Based on a story by Aung Thura, the movie plays in Switzerland and Myanmar. Being the first Myanmar movie ever to be filmed in a Western country. Shadows of the Pas presents the beauty of the Swiss Alps to a broad Myanmar audience.Principal photography of the movie took place in February 2008 in Myanmar and August 2008 in Switzerland. Post production was performed form September 2008 through December 2009 by various companies based in Myanmar, Switzerland, and Netherlands. Shadows of the Past is expected to set new standards in terms of picture and sound quality in Myanmar and is the most expensive Myanmar movie up to now.The commercial premiere of Shadows of the Past is to take place in January/February 2010 in Yangon and Mandalay. An international release with English subtitles is planned for 2010.
