Musink is a free music-composition software package that lets you write music at unprecedented speeds. With Musink, you can create anything from orchestral scores, to short-musical-snippets, to exercise books. Musink is particularly useful if you are a publisher, drummer, or writing music for many voices. Musink is optimized for speed and ease of use. Notes are added by simply putting the mouse where you would like a note, and clicking. Musink automatically takes care of music rules and layout for you. Everything possible is automated, including note duration, page margins, title positioning, bracket-numbering, stem directions, and mark-arrangement. You can even change the entire look of a score in seconds, simply by choosing a different template (page layout). These features are designed to let you focus on what you came to do: write music.

Musink can play back your music to you through any GM-compatible MIDI device. It can also export your work as MIDI and lets you export MIDI loops. Musink can publish your score to as a PDF or XPS documents, or as a series of PNG image files. Your score can then be directly dropped into Microsoft Word documents or put onto the web without requiring plugins.

Dis software is wicked! I can throw 2getha a tune in no time flat and dont need to think about like...how to do it. it makes it real fast. I used to use sibelius but wil ditch that now cos this is way beta. Dont have to waste your time playing with rests and stuff. Theres a few good vids on youtube and all dat to get you started Also write drums wif it and its good as.

A unique way to write music. really easy and there is a great help website if you get stuck. I make exercises for my violin students with it and they look like they are from a proper book!
Cons
there is a small learning curve because it works a bit differently to other software, but it is well worth it. you save lots of time in the long run!

Appearance was good, but it was basically a stab in the back because of the program's hideous lack of functionality.

Completely unintuitive interface, poorly designed menus, too much reliance on mouse This program is so bad it actually gives you a visceral sense of hatred for inviting you to waste your time trying to figure it out.
Summary
This program welcomes you with a fairly inviting, professional layout. I wanted to test the program out by creating a brief melody on a single four-bar stave. However, each bar was already pre-filled with four quarter rests, which seemed odd. I started out by trying to key in a whole note. You would think there would be a menu at the top where you could easily select a whole note. Wrong! No way to select a whole note. So, I simply added the default length note and tried to change it later. But, because the mouse positioning is horrible, it ended up adding the note AFTER the first rest. It converted the first quarter rest into an eighth rest followed by my eighth note. But, at least the menu lit up after I did that. Once I added the note and highlighted it, the menu lit up and allowed for a dropdown to select note length. But, the default note choiced didn't offer whole notes. However, the menu did offer all sorts of triplets and sextuplets as part of the default choices--but no whole note. Apparently, in this program's world, sextuplets are more common than whole notes. Nevertheless, I selected the whole note and clicked. But, guess what? It decided to convert the eighth note into a dotted half. That damn eighth rest! How to get rid of it? I highlighted it and hit "delete." Nope. I highlighted it and hit "backpace." Again, nothing. HOW DO YOU DELETE IT? In any other notation program on earth, either of those efforts would have worked. But not in this program. I decided to just forget it and move on to the next bar. In the second bar, I wanted to start with two eighth notes, the second of which would be tied to a half note. After a few minutes i figured out how to enter notes before the default rests, not after. But when it came to tie the notes together, guess what? Again, problems. I noticed an icon in one of the menu boxes that looked like a tie, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to apply it. I assumed that it would illuminate if I highlighted my eighth and half on the same line, but the program doesn't seem to allow you to be able to highlight more than one note at a time. Click and hold, like in Windows? Forget it. Not in this program. I turned to the help menu. The help menu said "Select the notes you wish to tie or slur. You can select more than two notes to quickly tie a series of notes." NO, YOU IDIOT, I CAN'T SELECT MORE THAN TWO NOTES. And if I really can, WHY DON'T YOU TELL ME HOW TO DO IT??? At this point, it was clear that this program was a complete waste of time. It was as if the designer took every common-sense, intuitive feature of most other notation programs and purposely decided to foul them up. Why the lack of menus? Why the supid pre-filled rests? Why don't notes appear where you actually click in the bar? Completely horrible in every way. The professional appearance seems to indicate that someone took time and energy to build this program. But, the complete lack of functionality renders that effort a monumental waste of time. The good appearance makes you want to try to figure this program out. But, after a while you realize this program is an utter piece of crap with absolutely no value whatsoever. Do not waste your time downloading it.
