Great integration visually into OS X, the simplicity and brushed metal look really makes this app look like it comes with OS X. This app can also play a manifold of file formats, which is useful when good ol' quicktime just can't get the job done.
Cons
Memory usage is very high, I have a decent 1GB RAM, and still experienced intermittent crashes due to lack of virtual memory. I had no other programs running at the time except for Finder and Dashboard [neither of which were active].

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I, too, am getting problems with MPlayer and Sound. only I get both channels, but instead of half speed, it goes double speed. I run a PowerMac G5 1.6. that's not the problem tho. I have an M-Audio Revolution 5.1 Soundcard and a 5.1 dolby steroo system set up. when I use that as my sound output the sound goes double the speed while the video play just fine. If I select my built-in sound and use either the built-in G5 speaker or headphone jack it's all fine, but point is I LOVE my 5.1 systema nd don't like going through the hassle of changing my Audio output evry time I wanna use MPlayer. I love MPlayer over VLC cuz VLC just crashes on me way too often and freezes all video aspects of my system so I need to restart. I think, If the developers of MPlayer can't just fix the problem I've described, there should be an option added that VLC has that I enjoy. Audio output selection. I'd like to be able to just select (from within MPlayer) what device MPlayer outputs the audio on. that would be awesome.
