Though it's unlikely to change anyone's life, this basic audio converter delivers on its promise and offers a couple of unexpected features. MP3-OGG-WAV-WMA Converter transforms audio files among the four formats found in its name. Like any respectable utility of this sort, the program lets you select bit rate, sampling rate, and encode files using VBR compression. The interface is neither ugly or particulary beautiful, but it is completely self-explanatory. If you choose to convert files to the MP3 format, you can apply high-pass and low-pass filters, a feature we don't see every day. There's also a list of presets with checkboxes for AM, phone, voice, radio, and HiFi, but we couldn't figure out how they fit into the overall scheme of the program. The minimal help files offer no assistance on this matter. The demo limits you to 30 file conversions, but that's more generous than many competing utilities that won't even enocde full tunes. If you're only seeking an audio converter and nothing more, this software makes a satisfactory choice.

Convert files... but tends to hang between files
LevsterJanuary 28, 2006
Pros
Large selection of audio formats available.
Reasonably intuitive front-end
Cons
There's no way of changing the default output type, so each time you open up you have to reselect a different one. This is very annoying as the default is MP3 so if you prefer WMA you have to change it.

Program crashes on average of about 1 in every of 5 conversion - very very annoying if you convert whole albums as it's guarunteed to crash at least once!

You can't change the default output folder, again very annoying if you always use a different output folder.

Hogs the whole processor so you can't do anything whilst it's running
Summary
poor quality - unusable output
