• Really useful even without an audience!

  Pros

  The software is designed to be used to focus the attention of an audience, but I've found it can also be useful when working in a darkened room (working in bed while spouse is watching tv; meeting room darkened for projector presentation; dorm room while roommate is sleeping; etc.). I use the largest spotlight to brighten the area where I'm reading or working, but the ambient light is minimized. I also find this useful when I don't want people nearby to be able to read everything on my screen. I'm currently using the trial version, which doesn't let you set the opacity, but I think that will add to the usability of the spotlight. I'm currently waiting for my new laptop to arrive and will register MouseLight if the new laptop works out.

  Cons

  The only thing (so far) that I don't like is that running MouseLight on system startup requires Administrator privileges. This won't affect most users, but will affect employees in companies that don't give their employees admin privileges on their own machines.
