AppleScript to mount any disk image and/or physical disks

This applescript will force-mount physical disks that refuse to mount on your system. You can also drop any type of image file (.dmg, .toast, .img) onto Mount Me! to have it mounted on your desktop.

If you double-click on the icon, it will seek out and mount any external/internal physical disks that refuse to mount for whatever reason. You will be able to select which disk(s) you would like to mount through a simple dialog box. To mount a disk image, simply drag the file onto the Mount Me! icon. It will quickly mount .dmg, .smi, .toast, .image, .img images, then quit, providing seamless integration of disk image mounting without any app-launching. Either way, you'll be getting mounted in no time!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. Mount Me! sucessfully finds and remounts a 160Gb external drive (formated in Fat 32 so I can use it on a PC as well) on my Mini under Tiger. An alias to it on the desktop is quicker than digging out Disk Utility.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. This is a very useful little script and I'm running it fine on 10.3. As I remember it takes a bit of setting up but it now sits on the menu bar, in a drop down panel, with a host of other handy scripts. I use a group of external drives, with Mount Me I can unmount any drive and remount it without having to remove and refit the firewire cable each time.

I've been looking for a tool that would let me re-mount firewire drives without power cycling or plugging and unplugging - a real pain when drives are daisy-chained. Works great on my G4/400 running 10.3. Thanks a bunch! P.S. It would be nice if there was a "silent" mode - hold down the option key (?) on a double-click and no dialogs come up - just mounts everything possible.
