Installer VISE is the easiest to use, and most powerful Software Installer builder for the Macintosh. A few drag and drop is all it takes to build an installer.
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I remember back in the day, Mindvision has always helped out mac software developers, I firestorm looks amazing, and I plan to buy it (and stop using drop stuff for all my apps =P as soon as I get some cash) but VISE is still top dog for any large or complex installations, and ANY installing in classic. The company is amazing, with great people.
Truly a shame ...

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
It's really a shame that such a powerful installer has to have such a horrendous, awful, poor, nauseating user interface. Installer VISE was designed back in the days of the classic Mac OS, and it shows. Trying to get through the interface is akin to wrestling a greased pig. I simply cannot say enough bad things about its interface. The fact that I have to use predefined install locations is tremendously stupid, as well, especially when working in OS X.
The bottom line is that this product should be scrapped as soon as possible. It is not at all suitable for an OS X solution. It's interface is a mortal sin against graphical user interfaces, and the installers it produces are perfect examples of how evil Carbon can be.
We need MindVision to come up with a good, enterprise OS X installer solution or Apple to provide better tools for creating packages. MindVision are on the right track with FileStorm Pro, which I really do like, but it's just not as flexible as VISE is yet, unfortunately. Hopefully coming versions will offer the flexibility I need so I can ditch VISE forever.
