Ummm... why doesn't cnet have the 3.0 patch?

- Version 3.0 fixes what 2.0 "screws up". CNET is probably either having financial trouble or is lazy. Catchup is gone (I think for good) and they don't keep up with new versions of software like they used to. Quite a shame.

- The infamous 2.0 patch. It may have fixed the hill bug, but it introduced so many other bugs that it's not funny. For example it introduced the inamfous no damage bug in which you hit a crit mech in the CT 5 times and it takes no damage. It also introduced the Mad Cat mk2 jumping bug.

- My Mechwarrior 4 game was being a pain in the butt. I had beaten the game and only got to see the ending cinema once. I went to show it to one of my friends and the game said I needed some kind of codecs stuff. I downloaded the patch and now everything works. I would highly reccommend this. It takes about an hour to download on a 28.8 kb speed connection, but it is definetly worth the wait.

Great...you need this for the map editor to work

- If you want to use the map editor for Mechwarrior 4 (located on the Mechwarrior 4 web site) you must download this. Version 1.0 or 1.5 will not work with it. As far as bug fixes, it fixes a problem when switching between programs, certain sound cards are now more compatible, and other misc. changes. I've never had a problem with the game since version 1, so I haven't seen any differences in this patch and the previous (I read some of the changes from the readme.txt file).
Fix a bogus error

- This patch fixed a bogus error that MW4 was giving me. The error stated that my machine didn't have the necessary requirements to play MW4 and wouldn't allow me to play. I had all the required drivers, hardware, and software. After I loaded the patch...it worked great and I haven't had a problem since.
