Easy to use, yet powerful enough to handle arrays, user-defined functions and to produce simple graphs and tables. It even handles include files and compiled extensions. Note that it does not try to produce publication-quality graphs or solve algebra. It does not have a slick, colorful GUI. It is a lean, mean calculating machine. With MathPad, you enter equations, function definitions, data, etc. in a worksheet and then solve everything at once by pressing <enter>. This is a wonderful paradigm. You can instantly solve easy problems. You can break larger problems down by generating solutions for bits at a time, then combine them. You can easily change inputs or equations for what-if analysis. You can save your worksheets to have a record of your work. MathPad can have multiple worksheets open at once. MathPad is simple, powerful, fast, lean, mature, well supported and well documented. I haven't seen anything else that comes close.
