Marathon 2: Durandal is a classic FPS for Mac users looking for some retro action. It features an extended campaign and new multiplayer modes, enhanced for modern systems via Aleph One.

Top Recommended Alternative

  • Pros

    • Extended campaign with new locations and enemies | Dual-wielding adds to the chaos | Aleph One provides modern enhancements | Shotgun! Need I say more? | Open-source means community support

  • Cons

    • It's old; graphics haven't aged gracefully | Multiplayer community is probably tiny now | Getting it running might require some fiddling | Prepare for some very 90's sensibilities
