- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />we were required to use it for school, and version 12.0 works fine I have never had it crash though it can be a slow start up ~15-20 seconds :( . The software has some weird commands and conversion issues but once you figure them out maple is great, I started doing my homework for other classes with it as well and it really speeds up the process.

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Installed the Macintel update on a Macbook (2Gb RAM, 10.4, etc) and now Maple won't launch. I've been on hold with "tech support" for 25 minutes now waiting for someone to pick up. This company really has had too many issues with bad updates, slow customer support and buggy interfaces, etc for the last decade. Do youself a favor and don't install this update.

The main difference I've noticed (besides the obvious one of it running in OS X) is that it is extremely slow compared to older versions. A simple sine plot takes several seconds to show up, and the load time for the application is comical. This is running on a 600MHz iBook with 640MB RAM. Hopefully speed will improve with either OS 10.3 or further updates... I'll probably stick with version 9 simply because I use OS X primarily, but if there is anyone out there running an older version on OS 8 or 9, you might want to stick with what you have.
