Mangatar it's a new generation avatar creator tool that combines features from avatar generators, social networks, location-based networks and online games. The avatar generator, core of the system, it's the first one completely developed in HTML5 it's flash-free and, then, compatible with iPad and all the new generation tablets and smart-phones.Moreover, for the first time in this kind of tools, all the avatar created are released under creative commons license and they are completely free, even for commercial use. Just as social networks were born "around" the photos (flickr, pinterest, instagram, etc.) we build a social network around the mangatars. Users have a personal profile, they can organize avatars in collections, become friend of other users, vote and comment others' creations, share everything on the major social networks. From the location-based system we inherited the ideas of "place" and "check-in". In mangatar, further to the elements in the base engine (hair, bodies, faces, etc.), there are some thematic pages that offer to the users more elements of customization. These pages can represent real places, events or brands. Doing "check-in" in those pages, users have sets of elements, related to the page's theme, to further customize their creations. Lastly, in the whole environment, there are gamification dynamics. Users can gain "popularity points" to increase the "popularity rank" and challenge their friends and hit the charts. Furthermore, there are badges to achieve in some conditions or reaching some goals. For every badge achieved users gain more popularity points and friends get a notification.
