MalWareBytes Anti-Malware isn't the do-it-all app you're used to on your desktop, but it is certainly effective. It sacrifices some of the powerful features you'd use less often for ease of use and speed. That makes it a lot easier for new users to understand while still maintaining the power to fully protect your phone or tablet.

This app offers protection from viruses, as well as privacy concerns and theft. Our first scan took about a minute and a half, which is great for a full scan. Doing a privacy scan took a matter of seconds, found every app that connected to our accounts, and advised us on a course of action to protect our privacy. The app automatically corrects any virus problems it finds, but it lets you take care of deleting or modifying dangerous apps. MalwareBytes is more proactive as you install apps, but its real strength comes from its automatic scan scheduling. These scans can be programmed to happen at any time of the day and can work in the background so they don't disrupt your regular usage. While the app lets you see how your phone is utilizing your memory, it doesn't let you close out running apps and doesn't offer a task killer. The app's menu is ridiculously basic, which makes it a little boring to use after awhile.

While this name is usually considered a tech-savvy brand, the mobile version has made things a lot easier to use. This is a blessing and makes MalwareBytes a great app for most users. While the gearheads may want more to optimize their phone's performance, average users will be more than pleased with all this app can do.

New PREMIUM Version is a BUGGY RIP-OFF!
prstonAugust 22, 2017
Pros
Absolutely no pros for the latest 'PAID' PREMIUM version Malwarebytes for Andriod...because after paying $11.99 for the Premium version, it remains locked in TRIAL version status!
Cons
1. The formerly 'Free' Full Version of MBAM is now called the PREMIUM version, costing $11.99 yearly. 2. After PURCHASING the PREMIUM version, it fails to change from expired trial status to active 'paid' status.
Summary
Malwarebytes for Andriod WAS one of the best anti-malware apps for Android. For the longest time, the FULL version was free. Recently, MBAM released an ad-free Premium version for $11.99 yearly. (The new free version is stripped of the best features.) Malwarebytes presents you with a free 30-day trial. I liked the Premium version AND BOUGHT IT! HOWEVER, the PREMIUM version will NOT change from the TRIAL status to my PAID status. THE PREMIUM VERSION IS STUCK IN EXPIRED TRIAL STATUS. What a serious RIP-OFF! (And yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Premium version. That did not result in an active 'paid' Premium version.)
It just don't work.

Pros
The software is free, which is nice.
Cons
This program treat the IoBit Advance System Care Pro 10.2 as malware and put the most important files in the quarantine which prevent it from working. Is it a bug?
Summary
It block legit programs from working. I had to remove Malwarebyte in order to let my PC run.
It opens and starts itself

Pros
It's a great product that catches LOTS that my spyware application misses. Seems to remove them well, runs fast no issues with this part of the operation.
Cons
I tried to take it off my startup in order to improve my boot time but it keeps slipping back in to the start up process. Then I close the program it will re start multiple times through out the day for no reason at all, sometimes even starting to scan my files. Currently I have removed it and will try a re install.
Summary
It works, but can be annoying and intrusive.
Free version is kick ass!!

Pros
No need for the hassle and headache of trying to remove a virus manually. It is fast, FREE, and effective.
Cons
No cons!! Additional info: the virus came with PSPad HTML editor. All the reviews for that were fantastic. It may (or may not) be a good editor but it installs WSE_Astromenda virus.
Summary
I had a virus and after several attempts to remove manually failed, I did a search on CNET and found Malwarebytes. After the initial scan there were several instances of the virus Astromenda that I didn't even realize were there. Manually I found only 6 associated files. The scan showed 22 instances of the virus and it got rid of them all!
