Mail to FileMaker Importer is an AppleScript-based application that can be used to automatically import email data from Mac OS X Mail or Microsoft Entourage into a FileMaker Pro database. Within the application's interface, users can easily configure the database and fields to be used for importing.

Mail to FileMaker Importer can be configured to import the selected messages in the current mailbox, or all messages in a specified mailbox. If specified, messages will be filed into a destination mailbox after they have been imported.

Mail to FileMaker also includes the ability to export an import configuration as an email rule script, which may then be configured to be automatically executed by Mail or Entourage when new email messages matching specified criteria are received.

A sample "FileMaker Pro" database is supplied with the solution for users that do not have a custom database available. Extensive documentation is also provided.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Although there are free alternatives, as the previous post notes, it's a nice "package" that avoids having to set up the various parameters involved. Although I agree that $15 seems a little steep, i guess that is the developer's discretion.<br><br>The major thing I see missing right now is a search feature. When you start to collect hundreds of emails, a search capability is going to be necessity. The Entourge equivalent to this, Entourage Email Archiver, has this and it's awesome. An attachment feature would also be nice or at least the capability to off-load them somewhere w/out using Mail.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />From the website you can download a demo version that will import a total of 3 emails into an FM database. It worked, and the interface is well done. Although the inability to import attachments is a major disappointment, though according to the developers there is some characteristic of mail.app that prevents this. Bummer. But what it says it does, it does. At least 3 out of 3 times. Maybe someone can find a way to get attachments, and then this app will be perfect.
