Forward aol, gmail, hotmail, msn, netscape, yahoo, pop, imap mail to any address.
Mail Forward allows you to forward mail from AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, MSN, Netscape, and Yahoo web mail accounts to any e-mail address. Standard POP and IMAP e-mail accounts can also be forwarded. Mail can be forwarded for up to 20 separate accounts. For each account, a forwarding address can be specified or a default destination can be used. Mail Forward works by accessing your e-mail account Inbox and forwarding each piece of mail through your SMTP mail server. Mail that is successfully forwarded can either be deleted from the forwarding account mailbox or left on the server. The forwarding account address is used as the return address for the forwarded mail, so if the mail is undeliverable it will be returned to the forwarding account. Mail Forward runs as a background process, using a System Preferences control panel interface with an optional status menu. A built-in scheduling feature allows mail to be forwarded automatically at a specified time interval.

Do yourself a favor and email support if you encounter an issue. You'll be glad that you did.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
first of all, i have a bunch of different pop accounts (hotmail, gmail, yahoo) and this program has worked flawlessly with all of them ... its easy to set up and does what its supposed to do well.
however, i am baffled by the fact that the author would make this an application, as opposed to a background process with a startup item. its difficult to justify the price for a program thats supposed to make it easier to check your email when you have to remember to start it up every time and then have it in the way (and in the dock, and in the switcher, etc) ... a preference pane, a mail.app plugin (like the httpmail plugin), anything that would run transparently and stay out of the way would be well worth the $20.
i guess its a little better if your fortunate enough to have an extra computer to run it on, but even with that, i would go to check my email at work only to realize that nothing new was there because i had rebooted my home machine and forgotten to restart the application.
it would be like paying for a premium hotmail account so you can get the forwarding feature, but then having to call up the hotmail folks a few minutes before checking your email to say "ok, im ready ... forward it now" and then having to wait until everything was finished forwarding before you could hang up the phone ...
one other thing ... beware that the download is a "sit" file ... not sure what this is, but there doesnt appear to be any way to open/mount/untar it using os x (seems like i used to have some program that recognized these ...)

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been using Mail Forward for almost a year now. I've had no problems with it whatsoever and it was well worth the $19.95 I paid for it. It worked for me as soon as I set it up.
I used to use Yahoo as my online email service. I paid for their premium service at $19.95 per year so that I could make use of some of the bells and whistles, including POP access and mail forwarding. When Gmail came along, it was good-bye to Yahoo -- for the most part -- but I still get emails at Yahoo and I do want to keep my Yahoo addresses for online ordering, etc. What I did NOT want to do was continue to pay $19.95 per year for the service. With Mail Forward, I don't have to. I paid once for the software and I have it ALL sent to my Gmail account.
As for the comment about Gmail is listed at all: I remember when Yahoo had free POP access and forwarding, something they offered when they first started up. Who's to say that Gmail won't decide to go the way of Yahoo and ask for payment for this "premium" service. If that ends up being the case, you will be glad that Gmail is listed as working with Mail Forward.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I'm sure this works, somehow. Here is my problem expressed with a little story/logic problem:
You have asked a butcher to bring you one nice steak. The butcher returns with a steak in each hand, looks you dead in the face and asks, "do you like this one?" Which one? If you are going to include absolutely NO instructions on how to use this application (aside from a screenshot that may or may not have ANYTHING to do with how your isp is set up) at least have the program itself be specific when there are problems. If mail is being forward from one account to another... Well, which steak does this thing mean.
I don't mind figuring things out, but quite frankly this application so far has required more time than just signing on to individual accounts. YOU wrote the thing so of course it seems obvious to you. You include a short novella on your READ ME page regards getting your money and not a sentence on application use.
Kudos to instant support

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
On 6/15/04, Yahoo changed the way they work, making Mail Forward inoperative. That very night, the new Mail Forward beta was released, and registered users received an email with the link. You have got to appreciate such support!
Mail Forward does what it says it does. My Yahoo mail gets forwarded to my Mail application flawlessly. To reduce its rating because one doesn't like the ISP or because of the registration system makes no sense to me.
