Magnify an area of your desktop with this program.
Magnifier is a tiny stand-alone program designed to zoom in on areas of your desktop. Zoom capacities are between 1 and 20 times the actual image size. A resizable, floating window maintains a zoomed image of the area under your mouse pointer.
- Does practically everything you could want in a magnifier.
- Flexible screen positioning and resizing
- "Lock" option very handy (would be even handier to be able to lock, and remember a minimised window...)
- Exceedingly good magnification range
Cons
- The apparently permanent cross-hair sucks
- An options panel???
Summary
Haven't re-booted since installing, nor have I had to try and remove this program yet (anything may still yet happen), but after having tried a few magnifiers.... so far, this one's a keeper!
Simple and elegant tool
BPBerk
Pros
I use Magnify constantly. It's one of the basic utilities that I put on every machine that I set up.
Cons
Not much to complain about, it would be nice have more granular levels of zoom, better yet zoom with the mouse wheel...
Summary
Great app that does a simple thing well.
good, but missing support for multiple monitors
kierah_
Pros
its a small application, leaves no footprint in registry and works as expected.
Cons
for systems with two or more displays, magnification only works on the 'primary' display. screen space on other displays seems to be out of bounds, and the magnifier displays a filler color instead.
Summary
It works. Nicely !

Nesus
Pros
Fast and easy! Perfect little magnifier that zooms in and out easily!
Cons
A more "continuous" zoom function had been a nice addition.

simply works and works simply

Summary
The only thing that I would like to add is an ability to magnify to 150%... 100% is obviously not enough, and sometimes 200% is too much. Other than that, it works without a hitch.
the magnifier has made my internet fun and easy. thank you.

Summary
i am legally blind and the magnifier has been a real blessing for me. there are still things i cant read, but thatis mostly due to color contrasts. maybe some day our computer will be like star trek and we will be able talk to it and it will talk back. again, thank you for the magnifier.
PERFECT!! no problems

Summary
great program!! super small and works PERFECTLY.. Someone that wrote a negative comment said that it "doesn't zoom out".. it does zoom in AND out exactly like it says (maybe they didn't know that even though zoom out is the minus (-) key, the zoom IN is the plus (+) key: consisting of holding shift AND pressing +.
Does what is says

Summary
Great little magnifier. Just use the + and - to zoom in and out. I haven't noticed a reduction in performance at all. I can't believe it's only 8K.
Meets my needs just fine!

Uses up a bit of CPU time, sure, but it's not like I'm rendering movies in the background. I have to run a proprietary database application that is required to run at 1280x1024 resolution, and Magnify is saving my eyesight! Takes a bit of getting used to, but you can drag the window around and resize it to place it where you want. I recommend it.
