• Needs better Technical Support. (Magix Photo Manager)

  From what I have read on the box it sounds like a really good product with a lot of interesting features.

  Cons

  I sent them three or four inquiries for Tech support on two or more of there web pages. A week later and there has never been a reply. Every time I run the Add folder (which it instructs you to do before doing anything else) my computer crashes. Just incase it was the computer I installed it again on a different computer (brand new computer). Crashed again with the same error message. Something about NTDLL.DLL. I bought the software specifically because it listed a feature called Find Duplicates on the back cover of the box. The only feature I could find resembling that was "Find Similar photos" under the edit drop down. A pop-up window opens up and I don't know what to do after that and there does not appear to be anything within the product to explain how to use the feature. What I saw in the pop-up seems to suggest that you have to pick the specific file and then the program will only find a duplicate of that picture. I have 40,000 pictures. I can't do that one at a time.

  Summary

  In Summary, I was unable to get past any of the cons to enjoy what might have been a number of wonderful features. Then again I might not have found those features so wondeful if I had to deal with the same kinds of issues that the other product features put me through.

  I can not open the program, I have tried trouble shooting. The tried Tech support....There is none. I use Magix Photo show 10, Photo manager come with it. You would think a new purchase would come with FREE tech support. It doesn't.

  Summary

  Magix is a good product, so what would have bee a score of 100, is now a score of 50....due to that lack of (Customer friendly)tech support.

  Pros

  Does not automatically scan the drive for photos, only scans the folders you select so the database does not get huge for no reason. The automatic photo optimizer does a great job & you can chose between destructive or non destructive modes.

  I have not found any

  This is a wonderful program & I recommend it to everyone.

  Pros

  Easy photo organising and album making. Haven't used editing side because I use other software for this.

  Cons

  None really so long as you don't mind spending time updating EXIF data.

  Summary

  Good piece of software - MAGIX could probably charge for this if they wanted to.

  100MB+ download, avgerage 100MB memory usage, 50-80% constant CPU usage in preview mode with nothing happening. Drops big hidden thumb index files in each image directory. Free but have to register for free code. Does not uninstall clean.

  Summary

  You can do this with Picasa or even Windows Live Photo Gallery. Has big buttons to buy stuff from their site. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

  Pros

  For free very easy, very quick autocorrection functions gives an easy to handle overviewing about your albums lots of viewing-possibilities fast zooming-funktions all in all a fast program

  Cons

  the red eye-tool was a bit disappoining

  It can be really helpful to fastly correct or order a hundrets of photos. you cant do anything wrong cause its very clear structured
